The retail specialist company will implement an investment of up to €20m into the iconic centre.
Madrid, 18 March 2024 – Following a change of control of Carlotta SL, which owns the Oasiz shopping centre in Madrid, Eurofund will implement an investment of up to €20 million of capital expenditure at the centre. Oasiz offers approximately 90,000 sqm of retail, leisure, food & beverage, as well as sports facilities, and a fountain lake show. This role further bolsters Eurofund’s existing portfolio of well-positioned assets across the Iberian market and a successful track record of repositioning retail and leisure destinations, including UBBO in Lisbon, which hit record visitor numbers last year, attracting over 20 million guests.
Savills, meanwhile, have been appointed as property managers and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre, working alongside Eurofund to optimise operational efficiency and tenant relations.
Oasiz opened its doors in December 2021 and features an array of shops, with brands including Adidas, Fnac, Mango, Nike Factory, Pull&Bear, Kave Home, Milbby and Puma. The retail mix is complemented by an extensive food and beverage offer, including a vibrant food market as well as an array of leisure activities. These include a CINESA LUXE cinema, featuring DBOX and ISENSE technology for an unparalleled viewing experience. Leisure brand, Speed Park, operates a family entertainment centre that hosts a bowling alley, indoor go-karting, and laser tag—in addition to the centre being home to a sweeping 130-meter zip line over the lake.
The centre redefines the shopping and entertainment experience, setting a new benchmark for the region. As part of this, the centre has a firm commitment to sustainability, demonstrated by the 7,500 solar panels and water purification systems, which help ensure the centre’s lakes remain a magnet for visitors from the immediate region and further afield.
Ian Sandford, President of Eurofund Group commented: “Oasiz offers today an excellent base from which we can create an extraordinary guest experience. With the new injection of capital, we can implement our expertise to continue building a leading destination for Madrid.”
Luis Espadas, Executive Director – Head of Retail of Savills Spain added: “We look forward to working with Eurofund Group to ensure Oasiz can fulfil its potential—leveraging our expertise to ensure an effective approach to Oasiz’s property and facilities management, sustainability, and technical requirements across the project.”
